The Lawrence County Community should stay focused on the actions of the Lawrence County Board of Education. The community needs to insist that board members keep them informed about what is occurring within the school system.

We can no longer sit quietly and not get involved. We need to know how many African American teachers and principals are employed at each school in Lawrence County and how many supervisors are at the Central Office. We need to learn how many certified and non-certified teachers our school system uses and at which school they are employed.

These are questions that we deserve and should be given the answers to. As a community, we should seek these answers and stay involved so that we are aware of all that is or is not being done by our Board of Education.
