Village of Promise, a local 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, empowers families to advance out of poverty using a multi-generational approach in Huntsville, Alabama. One word Mr. Dana Gillis, CEO, emphasized during his visit was “partnerships.”

In the meeting with Mr. William Smothers, Publisher of Speakin’ Out News, numerous community topics were discussed, followed by a historical tour of the inception of Speakin’ Out News. Speakin’ Out News is the longest publishing African American Newspaper in history in Huntsville and North Alabama for forty- three years.
