Over 700 students to receive degrees
Alabama A&M University will hold annual Commencement Ceremonies and Founder’s Day on Friday, May 5. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are invited to celebrate the Class of 2023 at both the graduate (9:00 a.m.) and the undergraduate (5:00 p.m.) ceremonies to be held at the Event Center on campus.
In celebration of its heritage, the University will also mark its 148th anniversary at the annual Founder’s Day event at 12 noon in Bradford Auditorium – Buchanan Hall. AAMU alumna ShaVonne Cammack will serve as this year’s speaker.
Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon will serve as speaker for the 9:00 a.m. graduate commencement ceremony. Alabama State Representative (District 19) Laura Hall will provide the address at the 5:00 p.m. undergraduate event. Additionally, 43 members of the Golden Class of 1973 will be honored as part of the undergraduate program.
In all, over 700 students will turn their tassels and become alumni.
Line up for GRADUATE candidates is no later than 8 a.m. prior to the Commencement Processional. The Program will begin promptly at 8:50 a.m.
Line up for UNDERGRADUATE candidates is no later than 4 p.m. prior to the Commencement Processional. The Program will begin promptly at 4:50 p.m.
