A 14-year-old boy was shot over the weekend in East Baltimore, police say.

Officers were responding to a shot spotter report drawing them to the location of the injured boy, who was discovered in the 2000 block of E. Lafayette Avenue.

The boy, who remains unidentified, was found on Sept. 25 around 1:40 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg. The injury is not life threatening and that the boy has been moved to an area hospital.

Witnesses told police that a gray Hayundai was seen leaving the scene, proceeding north up Chester Street.

Eastern District shooting detectives are investigating.
