After a year of delayed opportunities to support the community, the Rebound Center was the host site for this year’s 1,000 Toys for Christmas giveaway. With families from across Baltimore City in attendance, a large number of community Christmas needs and wishes were met.

Director of the Rebound Center Ericka Alston Buck, and event sponsor Sakina Dean, CEO of Divine Light, said in an interview, “they were grateful for the opportunity to give back.” It’s an attitude of selfless service that the community partners hopes that those who benefit from will duplicate.

The toy aspect of the Rebound Center is a small portion of the larger goal that addresses the many needs of the community. Some of the specialty areas include, GED classes, legal support, child support advising, mentoring, mental health/trauma therapy, and many others.

The Southwest Baltimore based resource center is not only spreading holiday cheer, but working to rebuild families.
