100 KIDS GET 100 STUFFED BACKPACKS FROM 100 JEEPS FOR SCHOOL
Treatment Program Partners with Jeep Club for an Unforgettable Back to School Experience
Baltimore, MD (August 25, 2021) – Divine Light a local intensive outpatient drug treatment program in Baltimore partnered with The Black Jeepers of The DMV in hopes of creating an unforgettable back to school experience, post quarantine for 100 Baltimore Public School Students. .
On Sunday August 29, 2021, 100 members of The Black Jeepers of the DMV will convoy, many from Southern Maryland and Virginia from 3 locations, then meet with its Baltimore members at West Covington Park, 101 W. Cromwell Street in Baltimore, MD 21230, where 100 Jeep Wranglers, all carrying brand new Backpacks that each member purchased and stuffed with school supplies for a child waiting for the Jeeps to arrive at The Rebound Center, located at 1200 W Baltimore Street.
The Rebound Center will be the home of Baltimore’s ONLY trauma responsive residential inpatient drug treatment program for young people ages 18 to 30 years old with a special interest in those currently engaged in the criminal justice system.
Divine Light has made it a practice to support the communities in which their programming exists by providing holiday meals during Thanksgiving, 100 Bikes for Kids during Christmas, distributing 20,000 meals during COVID quarantine and donating winter coats to youth in need last winter.
100 Jeeps are scheduled to leave together, in unison at 1:00PM. The convoy route will be:

All children, parents and Jeepers have been asked to wear masks and practice social distancing. Backpacks will be lined up aside Jeeps and children are welcome to pick the backpack of their choice!
